If this is your first time using CVC Camper Hire, you may have a few questions before you go ahead and book a campervan. We’ve compiled some helpful tips to get you started.

Who can drive the campervans?
Anyone over the age of 23 and under 75 years old, who has held a full UK driving license for 2 years, can drive our vans. Any convictions or bans or previous insurance claim/ incident must be declared on booking. Insurance supplements may be added, we will advise on booking. Unfortunately, our insurance doesn’t cover drivers with over 6 points. The main driver’s insurance is included in the hire cost. An additional driver can be added at £10 per day.
Can we take the campervan abroad?
Yes, but there is an extra cost of £10 per day for our European Upgrade Pack which must be taken if you are planning to leave the UK. This pack includes: European driving insurance certificate, European Roadside assistance cover, all items legally required to drive on the continent such as a warning triangle, headlight adjustment, reflective vests etc., and an information sheet on driving abroad. There are some limitations as to where you can travel so please tell us your travel plans before you book.
What induction do you offer?
When you come to collect your campervan, we will give you a full induction and let you have a go at various operations before you drive away. Each campervan has an information manual written by us with all the basics and full manufacturer’s handbook with more details; due to Covid 19 all these will be available online. If you are stuck on something you can call us. Please allow at least 45 minutes when you collect your campervan so that we can give you a full guided tour of your campervan and complete all the paperwork necessary.
What has changed since the Covid19 pandemic?
We maintain social distancing, and the highest hygiene standards.
When you collect your van, it will have been deep cleaned with antibacterial treatment.
We will email all paperwork to you. Also, we will ask you to send us your ID information required for the insurance to us via email three days prior to your hire.
When you collect your van, it will be ready to drive away. We will send you an email with the details of operation.
All plates, bowls, cups & cutlery supplied will be disposable. These will be compostable to help the environment. Please do bring your own if you prefer and take them home when you return.
Can you offer recommendations of places to go?
If you’re stuck for ideas, we recommend a free mobile app called ‘Search for Sites.’ You simply type in the area that you’d like to go to and will be presented with a list of camping and caravanning club sites, independent campsites, and caravan and motorhome club sites, complete with opening times, facilities, and contact details. Once you click on the name of a site, you’ll be taken to a map, detailing other nearby sites, parking, motorway service points, motorhome pub stopovers, Britstops, and more. You can even plan your route and search for sites abroad!
